About Resilient Georgia

Resilient Georgia aims to lead a statewide coalition to develop a trauma-informed public and private network of care providers working to create a birth-to-26 continuum of care in Georgia’s existing healthcare systems.

In 2019 Resilient Georgia partnered with the Pittulloch Foundation to offer four regionally-focused two-year grants to community foundations across the state of Georgia. Lasting until December 2021, these grants were created to support Resilient Georgia’s strategic plan by increasing the statewide capacity for and awareness of trauma-informed care.  Since then, Resilient Georgia has expanded to include twelve coalitions across three cycles of grant funding.

Resilient Georgia’s strategic map addresses five key priorities:

  1. Promote coordinated trauma-informed practices across systems
  2. Advance the workforce through recruitment, education, and development
  3. Build awareness and a common language/understanding about adversity and resilience
  4. Advocate for policy and systems change
  5. Create a sustainable model for the organization and the movement

About Resilient Northeast Georgia

Creating a trauma-informed behavioral health system is a top priority in the Northeast Georgia region and the state of Georgia as a whole. Growing out of a previous two-year grant cycle, Resilient Northeast Georgia is an emerging regional coalition focused on the mitigation and prevention of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) among individuals ages 0-26. Under the guidance of Resilient Georgia and the Pittulloch Foundation, Resilient Northeast Georgia’s footprint and scope of focus has expanded over four years, honing a community-driven approach to trauma-informed systems change.

In December 2021, the coalition secured an additional two years of funding, rebranding to become Resilient Northeast Georgia and expanding to cover a 12-county region ( Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Greene, Jackson, Jasper, Madison, Morgan, Newton, Oconee, Oglethorpe, and Walton counties) that reflects Georgia Family Connection Partnership’s Region Five.

With renewed funding and an expanded area of service, Resilient Northeast Georgia is poised to provide trainings, resources, and opportunities for connection to partners and service-providing organizations across the region, creating a coalition built on collaborative efforts.
