Oconee Area Resource Council (OARC) works to improve outcomes related to youth literacy, school-based supports, and family support systems through the coordination of programs and services with local providers and stakeholders. In collaboration with Resilient Northeast Georgia’s trauma-informed communities initiative, OARC will cultivate a community approach to trauma prevention by stewarding services that increase provider capacity and community resiliency.

As a part of the Resilient Northeast Georgia coalition, the Oconee Area Resource Council will focus efforts on educators, school system staff, youth-serving organizations, families with school-aged children, and the community at large. A key part of this strategy will be achieved through workshops and training events designed to increase community capacity and knowledge of Adverse Childhood Experiences and root causes of trauma.
