Greene County Family Connection Commission works to find strategic approaches to community stability through the lens of poverty, homelessness, and family support initiatives. In collaboration with Resilient Northeast Georgia’s trauma-informed communities initiative, Greene County Family Connection Commission is cultivating a community approach to building a shared language and knowledge of trauma-informed care using a resilience building model with the support of community partners and family service providers.
As a part of the Resilient Northeast Georgia coalition, Greene County Family Connection Commission is pursuing programs and services that support homeless families with children, reduce the impacts of poverty, strengthen community support systems, and provide community partner and parent education. A key part of this strategy will be achieved through workshops and training offerings designed to increase community capacity and knowledge of trauma prevention strategies for parents, educators, youth-serving organizations, the faith-based community, first responders, and the community at large.
